Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • • Why does the amplifier keep going into protection mode?
Protection can be caused by overheating, an incorrect speaker load, shorted wiring, or poor power and ground connections. Check speaker impedance, terminals, ventilation, and wiring before operating again.
  • • Why does it shut off when I turn up the volume?
A shutdown at higher volume can indicate the electrical system cannot supply enough current or the amplifier sees an unsuitable load. Check the battery, charging system, wiring, and speaker impedance.
  • • Why is there no sound even though the amplifier powers on?
Check the RCA or signal connections, gain settings, speaker wiring, and source output. Confirm the speakers are connected to the correct channels and that balance or fade settings are not preventing audio.
  • • Why does the amplifier get very hot during normal use?
Some heat is normal, but excessive temperature can indicate poor ventilation, an unsuitable speaker load, or prolonged high output. Mount the amplifier in a location with adequate airflow and verify impedance.
  • • Why do I hear a whining noise through the speakers?
Engine-speed-related whining is often linked to grounding or electrical interference. Check the amplifier ground and RCA connections, and route signal cables away from power wiring to reduce unwanted noise.
  • • Why does the sound distort at higher volume?
Distortion can result from excessive gain, a weak source signal, or amplifier clipping. Reduce the gain, avoid extreme EQ boosts, and make sure the amplifier receives a clean signal from the head unit.
  • • Why is one channel louder than the others?
Check the RCA connections, channel gains, speaker wiring, and head unit balance or fade settings. Swapping inputs can help identify whether the problem comes from the source, wiring, or amplifier channel.
  • • Can I use it to power four speakers at once?
Yes, its four-channel design is intended for multi-speaker setups. Make sure each speaker is connected to the correct channel and that the combined impedance stays within the amplifier's supported range.
  • • Why does the amplifier turn off after playing for a while?
This may indicate thermal protection, an unstable speaker load, or a loose power or ground connection. Check ventilation, impedance, terminals, and wiring to identify the cause of the shutdown.
  • • What should I check if the speakers have very low output?
Check the gain settings, input signal, speaker polarity, wiring, and source settings. Also verify the speakers are receiving the expected channels and that the amplifier is not limiting output through protection.

  • Hooked up my 6x9s with it and running them at 2 ohms, it sounds really way better than just having them powered up by the stock stereo.

  • Lovin' this RF amp. I've tried some more expensive class D amps than this but I never thought I would love how this amp powers up my speakers. Great full range sound. It's compact too, which makes installation much easier.
